The company is privately held, and was formed in early 2009 by a group of senior information technologists and IT management professionals to meet the increasing demand for high quality IT management support. This quickly expanded to also encompass major change initiatives and regulatory requirements including Solvency II.

The Fifth Step senior team have extensive experience with market leading organisations in a range of industries including financial services (retail banking and insurance), IT, E-business, media, retail and manufacturing. Our team of consultants operate globally but predominately throughout the UK and Continental Europe, and hold appropriate accreditations and qualifications for a wide range of technologies and skills including IT Governance, infrastructure, security, networking and the delivery of training.
